"...there is no doubt that CRY is
saving lives, physically and spiritually. The integrity and passion of CRY's
commitment to bringing Christ and comfort to less fortunate brothers and sisters
is an inspiration for all of us. I look forward to helping CRY in any way I can
as they expand their outstanding efforts to the USA."
Rev. Ray Avent
Retired Church Minister - now Voluntary Fundraising
Coordinator, UK
"Everybody knows
that in the wider world there are thousands of charities seeking help and
support but, we know also, that as Christians we are seeking to under-gird a
genuine Spirit-based work through which the whole person, young or old, can be
released into the fullness of what God has in mind for their life now and in the
future.
CRY has pieced
together a proven and working basis of prayerful compassion, astute funding,
whilst required, plus a visionary approach to new initiatives. People like my
wife and I have served in numerous charitable arenas but willingly give of our
prayers, practical support and financial commitment to CRY with the assurance
that all our efforts will be wisely appropriated and astutely enhanced by David
Farndale and the Directors/Trustees of CRY each year.
David’s personal
dedication is a joy worth seeing and an inspiration to all! People we know
remain amazed by the variety and volume of compassionate care CRY achieves each year now and on a
worldwide basis by a plethora of Christian blessings that continues to grow. CRY
can be supported with confidence!"
Richard Hemming
Business Partner - Scott White and Hookins, UK
“I have known David for many
years and I have also been involved with fund raising for CRY. In everything
that David does he is fully committed and forward thinking, looking to raise
awareness and develop the profile of the charity, without losing sight of the
purpose of the charity, which is care and relief for people in need.”
Victor Serbulov
President/ CEO of Ukraine YMCA, PhD in Law
"It has been my
privilege to know David Farndale for more than 3 years. As the Chief Executive
of CRY charity David was very helpful and cooperative in realization of a joint
project with Ukraine YMCA in supporting the Special School for Blind Children #5
in Kiev. The great job and high personal qualities David performed during our
cooperation proved that he and his charity organizations are reliable to work
with. Let God bless David and his charity work." (unedited)
Gerard Van Der Vegt
President - Good Shepherd Homes, India
"I have known
David for a number of years, because the respective charities that we work for
have certain similarities. I have come to know him as a reliable and dedicated
person, and as an effective campaigner for the cause of the poor. His integrity
and commitment are unquestioned."
Andy Stubbles
Company Director & Big Band Member, UK
“I am a Director
of a Construction company operating mainly in London, England. In my spare time
I sing with and am involved in a 20-piece Christian Big Band playing swing music
and classic Sinatra scores. We have over the last 3 – 4 years worked closely
with David Farndale and CRY in charity events raising funds and the profile of
their operation with abandoned and street children.
In 2009, I had
the privilege to visit the work of CRY in the Ukraine with David, and his
commitment and heart is only matched by his knowledge of the plight of these
children. David's understanding of Gods heart and command to serve in this way
is both a credit to God and a challenge to me, and I personally endorse and
commend him to you.”
Igor Dyachenko
Former Employee,
Ukraine
“The first time I
met David Farndale in October 1999, he offered me to work for CRY (non
profitable charity organization) in Ukraine as CRY administrator. We’ve been
work together till 2006. During our mutual working we’ve supported a few
projects such as “Father’s House” children's home, “Kiev Special Boarding School
for Blind Children”, “Island of Treasures Summer Camp for Street Kids”, State
Shelter for Street Kids, and a Street Feeding program, etc.
He is one who
planted God’s love to children in to my heart. Since 2000 I do not think about
something else but poor children. He has a great heart full of God’s mercy and
compassion. I never met any person such gifted for charity and for helping
children. I am the witness: God is acting through him very powerful.
As my chief he is
loyal, wise leader, good instructor and very talented ‘manager’. All programs he
developed were well-defined, accurate, articulate, clear, positive and precise.
But at the first he was not my chief, he was my brother in Jesus Christ, my
spiritual teacher, advisor & counselor.
Now I’m working at non-profit Foundation
"Native Home" . Priority in the activities of the Foundation "home" is a social
program for children who have functional limitations". (unedited)
Micky & Carol Service
Project Volunteers, Romania
“From small
beginnings we have seen CRY grow to the highly efficient supportive agency to
children in need worldwide. Our involvement with CRY began over 15 years ago
helping young Romanian street people prepare for life ahead and being part of
that amazing healing work. Underpinning all CRY's work are the Christian values
which they take into needy places to see revival among forgotten communities.
David has displayed excellent integrity and vision handling CRY's finances,
personally visiting and building trusting relationships wherever he goes. He is
a wonderful friend and co-worker."
Jon Diaper
CRY Voluntary Board of Advisors, UK
"My name is Jon
Diaper and I am one of the original founders of CRY. I was a Trustee/Director for over
15 years until due to pressure of work I stood down. I remain an advisor
particularly on property-related matters.
I have known David and have had the
pleasure of working with him over almost 20 years. He is an honest, hard working
and faithful Christian servant. He has put in countless hours of work on CRY's
behalf and has the ability to deal with problems in a very calm way.
Over many years I have seen CRY grow from a
one program charity to a charity that has a variety of extremely worthy programs
in many different countries. I am proud to have helped its growth in some small
way and believe that due to its structure and firm Christian foundations and
ethos that it will go from strength to strength."
Jon Diaper FRICS MCIArb - Senior Director -
CB Richard Ellis, Commercial Property Consultants
Chris Haig
Managing Director - CM Solved, UK
“My wife and
I have been supporters of CRY for a number of years (over 10) and during this
time we have seen the charity grow but not lose it’s 'personal touch'.
I have been
privileged to be able to travel to Ukraine to visit CRY projects within that
country and I have seen first-hand the impact the charity has on the lives of
some of the venerable young people there. During my visit I was able to visit a
school for blind children, which had been state-run (established when the
government had an “anti-Christian” perspective). It was very moving to meet the
Director of the school who is now so obviously pleased to see the Christian
influence brought in by the charity.
It is very
important to both myself and my wife that whichever charity we support is
effective in both glorifying God as well as meeting humanitarian needs and we
are both very happy that CRY is effective in both these respects."
Arjan Emini
Executive Director - Home of Hope, Albania
“CRY (Care &
Relief for the Young) is the Primary Donor of the Shtepia e Shpreses
(Home of Hope) Program since 2003. David Farndale in the position of Chief
Executive Officer of CRY UK has been of a great assistance and support for me as
a Director as well as all of our staff of Home of Hope. He has kept
regular contact with us via email and Skype/phone and has visited periodically
our program ensuring that everything is running well according to CRY's Vision
and Policies.
David’s contribution
to raise funds in UK and abroad for our residential and day care program has
been very vital for the lives of many children and their families. CRY’s
impact towards the most vulnerable groups of Albanian community was also greatly
appreciated by the Albanian Prime Minister Mr. Sali Berisha who visited Home of
Hope during Christmas 2008." (unedited)

“I would like
to thoroughly commend and recommend to you the Charity CRY and CRYUSA. I
have worked with CRY over many years and am a regular supporter of them, and I
cannot commend them to you enough for their integrity, compassion, efficiency as
an organization and many other attributes. For example, when I was out on
a visit to the Congo a couple of years ago there had been an earthquake and at
my request CRY were able to raise a significant amount of money to support the
earthquake victims and I was very pleased indeed to receive CRY’s contribution,
as well as the professionalism and efficiency they so ably displayed. The
same applies to how they have been able to contribute finances and medical
supplies to very poor refugees I have been treating in a refugee camp on the
Rwanda Burundi border.
I also personally
know all the members of the CRY Board of Trustees as well as those who work for
CRY and again can very happily recommend them to you. David Farndale
himself is a man of very good character and shows excellent integrity.
