Agricultural Program,
Mkchyan
Following a request for help from
Karen the Pastor of the local church
in 2003, CRY was able to purchase
one Hectare of land to support the
community. Since that time, further
land has been purchased and with the
help of grants from CRY, animals
have been bought and a larger scale
agricultural program developed.
This is now a thriving program which
provides employment for local people
and skills training, which has also
enabled many families to become
self-sufficient. Produce from the
farm also supports a feeding program
to hundreds of impoverished families
in the region. The project is now
self-sufficient and there are plans
to develop new aspects. CRY
continues to maintain regular
contact with Karen and from
time-to-time accesses grants for
capital developments.
