Get Involved...

There are lots of ways in which you can get involved...it doesn't matter how much time you have spare, there is something you can do!

  Pray in the Name of Jesus Christ:
Praying regularly for CRY's work is one of the most important ways you can get involved with CRY! It's simple yet the most effective way to help. We are grateful to everyone who prays regularly for CRY programs, our thrift shops in UK, volunteers, staff, finances and overseas partners. To give you some help and encouragement to pray regularly, CRY produces a prayer letter every Quarter which gives you a weekly guideline of what and who to pray for.

To receive regular copies of our Quarterly prayer letters, just Sign Up (left column) and follow the simple instructions. It's a proper Opt-In scheme, so you will need to confirm receipt of the email you will receive. And its very easy to remove your name from the mailing list, should you wish to.

  Fundraise:
We encourage anyone to fundraise for CRY USA. Download your FREE fundraising pack today - hundreds of A-Z ideas on how to fundraise from Abseiling to Zebra Racing(!) or holding an Auction of Promises to Yacht Racing... anything goes...as long as its legal, ethical and compatible with the charity's Christian ethos!

  Sponsored Events:
How about organizing a fundraising event  like a charity walk to raise funds for CRY? We can provide you with some resources and useful tips document - its actually very easy and enjoyable - you just approach your existing circle of friends, work colleagues, hobby pals, church members, gym members, etc.

  Tell Others:
Tell your friends, church members/leaders, and workplace/business colleagues about the work of CRY, and preferably hand out some CRY brochures. Visit our Resources page to download items or request brochures, etc.

  Donate Stamps:
Donate used postage stamps, stamp collections, and related postal stationery items for us to sell on eBay to raise funds for our programs.

PLEASE NOTE: All eBay stamp (loose stamps, not album collections) sales are currently processed and dispatched from CRY in the UK, so please do NOT send stamp donations to our US office, but to our UK address which is:

CRY Charity Stamps, 27 High Street, Eastleigh, SO50 5LF, UK.

We regret that we are unable to reimburse the mail costs, so we suggest stamps are packaged in lightweight polythene mailers obtainable from most stationery suppliers.

OR you can approach local people and firms yourself (we issue you a letter of authorization to do this) to donate stamps, then sell them yourself through your own eBay account, and mail us a check (less your eBay and PayPal commissions, mailing costs etc) when they've sold.

  Donate Collectables:
Small collectables and small antiques can be sent to our San Diego office address. These will then be valued, and then sold/auctioned to raise money for a designated CRY program of your choosing - please package all fragile items very carefully to reduce the chance of damage in the mail and if of any higher value, we recommend you use an insured mail service.

  Selling on eBay:
Did you know that under the Mission Fish initiative, you can choose CRY USA as your chosen charity to receive a donation (min 10%) from items you sell on eBay? Just choose CRY when you list the item, nominate the % donation, and that's it - as long as the item sells, you are blessing needy children. Our eBay user account is 'cryusa'.

  Your Time:
If you have a few voluntary hours spare...we would love to hear from you. There are lots of ways in which you can help...something for everyone.

Another way you can help is by providing FREE (or subsidized) advice, goods or services - some examples are:

• Web design work and/or site hosting fees

• Translation work on this website

• Brochure design and general art/graphics work

• Publicity and media promotion

• Marketing expertise

• Multimedia video production (Web and DVD)

• Journalism (some possibilities to visit charity programs)

• Items for us to sell on eBay and Amazon

• Free lease (or very low rent) retail premises from which we can set up either a thrift shop or English Tearoom - might consider profit sharing

• DVD duplication

• Printing (digital or litho) of brochures, newsletters and flyers etc

• Mailing costs of sending items/letters to supporters
